My GOD. The first month has already flown by and I’ve barely begun.
Last weekend, a good friend of mine came back from Hong Kong to visit and brought the girls some stuff from Little Whale. T2 was OVER THE MOON with all the little pink accessories that were beautifully wrapped and packaged, almost makes me want to live in Hong Kong Discovery Bay! And the blessed woman also gave ang pows even though she wasn’t married. We had a heart to heart reminiscing about the good old days together with another childhood friend of ours and I was told that I looked SO HAPPY, not that I ever looked unhappy, but because she hadn’t seen me for almost 2 years now, she said that after me starting work, I now had the deliriously happy look and that I was buzzing with excitement! Bzzz….Bzzzz….Bzzzzzz……
It’s a difficult challenge, make no pretences that working full time and maintaining the standard of raising good kids is one helluva back breaking job because many a time, I just wanted to cry it all out and throw in the towel and return to my Stay-At-Home-Mom job. The Hubs and I have fought about it because I am so stressed out all the time, the kids complain that they don’t have their Mama like they used to, and well, there is just less of me to offer because there is only one of me!
Yet, it is so fulfilling to know that as a family, we are progressing, and as a woman, I am progressing too. As individuals (all four of us), we are growing emotionally, spiritually, organically (haha), healthily and happily, and together as a family, we are heading towards that same direction – gotta love it!
I have an Indonesian lady coming to help us out full-time soon so fingers crossed that this will sort part of my difficulties once and for all. In the meantime, we still have our lovely British Nanny to take care of T2 whom I’m hoping to push into play school by the second quarter, here’s hoping the Hubs will agree!
The photo below shows my British Nanny baking some chocolate brownies with T1 over the holidays. She will be leaving to go back to the UK to finish up her Dentistry at University in a few months time and we will MISS her very dearly. If I could afford her, I would keep her for as long as possible! Anyway, we will stay in touch forever as she has been a big part of the girls happiness. They bully her into playing all day! And I tell the Hubs we’re probably scaring her into ever having children. Haha….
So. What is my big resolve for 2012? First and foremost, I have to go get some blood work done for my thyroids, my hormones, cancer markers and my general well-being. How much will that cost? RM500? It must be done before February is over. Then, and as I speak, the weight loss journey continues……By 2011 end, I’d lost 5kg but after CNY, topped up another 1.5kg. Blek!
I need to lose another 3kg in February very quickly in order to catch up with a friend. My biggest challenge is sleep. Lack of sleep makes it difficult to lose weight easily so maybe I just have to cut out all social invites for the lack of time.
I need to make sure that the kids and family are happy and well fed, that my parents and brothers are happy and healthy, and that my big challenge for 2012 gets conquered.
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE – as T1’s school purports!
Who is Mamapumpkin?
Mamapumpkin spent 7 years in London committing crimes to gain her Bartlett BSc in Architecture. She spent 7 years as a Stay At Home Mom raising her children as documented in this Mamapumpkin blog since over 10 years ago and thereafter returned to the Corporate World stronger than ever. Her last job as Country Director of a British Railway Signalling organisation saw her getting ill with an aortal and mitral heart valve regurgitation and early stage cancer. Through her journey from working to not working to working again, she sets out to prove to all women that they can do anything and everything that they set out to do; as long as they have that fire of desire burning within and the drive to work hard. Even better with oodles of love, passion and integrity.
Despite being ill, she has grown a network marketing business from very little knowledge and experience in the otherwise infamously known MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) industry, racing from an income of ZERO to RM 100,000 monthly in merely 2 years. She is a firm believer of the MLM business model but realises the pitfalls too and understands how and why the majority of people would shy away (or zoom far away) from any MLM business.
She is now pondering the title of her new book, From Zero to 100,000 RM monthly in 2 years and has a sequel in the pipeline with the aim of helping real professionals succeed in the World of MLM. Always the giver, Mamapumpkin has supported orphans for over 30 years and has now extended her care to the sick, single mothers, and even struggling families. She believes that with the MLM business model, we can all have a life of our own desires to enable real contribution into the world.
A beautiful life without limits.
Mamapumpkin currently manages the Homeschooling Hub Malaysia on Facebook. She also runs Working Women Malaysia (not THAT kind of Working Women!), Mamapumpkin - Creating A Life of Abundance, and Funky Moms on Facebook to offer REAL support to all women who want career and life success. She is a living testimony that women really can have a lot. Being financially free has enabled her to travel the world anytime anywhere doing anything, and she spends most of her day to day with her children, reading and supporting other women.
