I’m always feeling guilty that my kids don’t get enough outdoor time. They don’t even get enough time out of the house! I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not but last year, I told myself that I was going to bring them out to play at least once a week, whether it be Kizsport or some playground somewhere; and boy, what a great time they had.
It was after school at about 430pm and Kizsport BV was quiet on a week day (which is great) and although people say that the Kizsport in BV is too ‘young’ for a 7 year old, my T1 enjoyed it as good as any because she has an imagination. I always tell her, it’s not where you go but what you do and thus, she always makes the best out of any situation.
She plays very well with her sister despite their age difference and in the end, she always makes friends with some strangers whatever their age. She’s that versatile and friendly, my T1. T2, on the other hand……
.
……..will kill you with a death glare if you do not have chocolate or are a part of her family. And if you ever tried speaking to her? She’d just mata jeling her eyes and turn her head away. I kid you not. She is that rude. And there is nothing I can do to change that right now except talk the issue out with her to death.

My T2 is a brave dare devil. At a very young age (soon after walking) she was already climbing and attempting to climb her own slide having much better gross and fine motor skills than T1 ever had at the same age, but nowhere near as good with her speech development; although now, she can already string a sentence of 12 words!! Yes, I counted and they weren’t syllables.

We even met a friend and ended up having dinner together. I must make it a point to try this once a week play thing again. They really had so much fun and the only nightmare for me is to get them home without any tantrums (as they would be super exhausted by then) and get them to shower and brush their teeth before bed. SIGH.
Where does time go?????

Hey….true that it doesn’t matter the age of the child. Experience and learning should not be restricted to the general capability of the child.
But I am kinda glad to hear about T2. My 2nd is the same, very physical but speech wise not that great. We are still hoping for a word or 2 soon.
I m looking for a play-place where I can dump P for 2 hours and I literally can go out to shop. U know any?
so true…it’s not where you go but what you do! I couldn’t agree with you more!
