….Talk is cheap….take it with a pinch of salt!
T2 fell ill 3 weeks ago with a dry cough which quickly turned into a wet cough and then a cough with a runny nose. No fever, thank God! So much for an exclusively breast fed baby. Totally over-rated.
I saw the Doctor 3 times. Because each time she went into a coughing fit, I’d panic and wondered if she’d contracted asthma, or was choking or was going to turn blue! The first time, her doctor said her lungs were clear and it was a very mild virus infection that she’d contracted. The second time, her usual doctor was in Europe so she saw the stand-in Doctor who again, said her lungs were clear, nothing to worry about and gave me some phlegm meds which we never took. The third time, I was actually in the midst of a Mommy and Baby yoga class when she went into one of her coughing fits and started crying. Being in Bangsar Village, I immediately took her down to the new baby clinic below. Yes! Did you know there is a baby clinic in Bangsar Village??? How cool is that???!!!!!
Now, who can resist a pediatrician’s clinic like this?
Out of the 3 Doctors, I must say that the BV baby clinic called Baby and Beyond had the best doctor! Firstly, she was the most thorough. She asked me lots of questions about T2’s cough which the others didn’t. Perhaps she was very free that day, there were no other patients as it is a new clinic. But I just love it when Doctors give me the time of day. She also explained to me what whooping cough was and what to look out for and then showed me how to give T2 some physiotherapy to remove phlegm from her chest. She was a wonderful lady doctor but unfortunately, I didn’t get her name. To add icing to the cake, Tee was entertained whilst we saw the Doctor as they had a wonderful receptionist who agreed to watch her.
Check out their doll house! It has a kitchenette, fully equipped with crockery and utensils, household tools and some other toys.

The reception is a bus which kids can enter to drive and then Tee discovered…….

That there was a switch in the bus driver’s seat that turned on the bus’s flash lights!!! They flashed in different colours and swirled around, how f*#king cool is that?!
And for all this, you’d imagine that I paid an exorbitant rate for T2’s medical services? Not at all. In fact, I ended up paying the least for the best service! And in the best environment as well, rather than ill-infested hospitals!!! Mothers…..go check this place out. Their number is 03 - 22829028 and they are located at BV2 on the 2nd floor.
Once upon a time, I designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, I clean poop and am student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, I have certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....
To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.
This blog is about me, Mamapumpkin. A crazy, demented Mom who cares full time, alone, without any help, for an even crazier preschooler AND a baby with a boob addiction problem. *sniff* Someone, please get me a chair.......
I write anything that comes out of my head, mostly without thinking first, which almost always gets me into trouble (according to my husband, also known as the love of my life.......on a good day).
My pet monkeys drive me towards challenge after challenge, 24/7.
Gotta love it.

Ooh coincidence! We go there too! Baby needed a blister deflated, and the lady doctor there (I think we got Dr Say Ling) was so gentle she didn’t even know she got pricked by a needle!!! Never EVER going back to Pantai or DSH again!!!!

You’re right, the clinic looks more like Gymboree (in fact, it looks better!). Thanks for the tip, since you know, I hang out at BV pretty often too! *wink*
