Mamapumpkin???

Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, she cleans poop and is student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....

To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.

This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A crazy, demented Mom who cares full time, alone, without any help, for an even crazier preschooler AND a baby with a boob addiction problem.

She writes anything that comes out of her head, mostly without thinking first, which almost always gets her into trouble (according to her husband, whom she considers the love of her life.......on a good day).

Her 2 pet monkeys drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7. Day after Day.....and by the way, her parents are Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she's Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She's thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.

Gotta love it.

She'd love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com

4 month old baby with cough

I am wondering now the overrated-ness of exclusively breastfeeding. Because T2 started having a dry cough which has now turned into a wet cough. She is unwell, no fever, but clearly cranky. She wants the boob all day and wants only to be held. She is usually an independent lass.

Tee hardly had any breast milk but I can assure you that she was a much stronger baby! She never fell ill in her 1st year and in fact only started catching colds when she started school and even then, only up to twice a year at most. Compared to her fully breast fed friends, she won hands down. I’m not suggesting at all that formula is good, because it isn’t, but hey, I thought breast fed babies weren’t supposed to catch colds! Oh, whatever…..

To make matters worse, I’ve come down with a cold myself. Bugger.

i’m also beginning to think that it’s a myth. my 1st one was sick in her 1st month (had to be hospitalized when she was 20 days old!). after that, she was sick several more times too in her first year but i have to admit that she was at the daycare since one and a half mths old so she was at greater risk.

with no. 2, she first fell ill at 3 mths old and several more times too after that. she’s also at the daycare since one and a half mths old. but they say the kids after no. 1 would fall sick easily as no. 1 would be exposing the germs to them.

hope t2 and you are feeling much better now!

ahh…poor Harley baby. get well soon. it’s hard not to catch the cough virus when it’s around us now. everyone in my family is down with cough and when we were at the paed, i could see most children were coughing too :(

Tis true, what you think. Babies are only immune INSIDE the womb. Not so immune outside..I mean, BM isn’t the antidote for EVERY illness..

AND I AM NOT ANTI BreastFeeding K!! So don’t throw rotten tomatoes at me..I breastfeed all three boys. I was never breastfed myself..but I have a fairly good immunity. So do my boys.

    It’s in the genes.

I hope T2 and yourself are feeling way better by now. I just recovered from a drippy nose last week – stayed home from Mon-Wed. I was praying hard that the kids didn’t catch it from me – they didn’t but hubs did LOL. I agree with Mott that bm isn’t a cure-all. I personally feel it’s great for babies with a family history of allergy. I think bfeeding is great but I’ve known many who shares the same woes as you. I shall stop now because you will start throwing rotten eggs at me if I start with my “Breastfeeding is great but there are cons”. Email me if you’re interested *wink*
