Mamapumpkin???

Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, she cleans poop and is student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....

To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.

This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A crazy, demented Mom who cares full time, alone, without any help, for an even crazier preschooler AND a baby with a boob addiction problem.

She writes anything that comes out of her head, mostly without thinking first, which almost always gets her into trouble (according to her husband, whom she considers the love of her life.......on a good day).

Her 2 pet monkeys drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7. Day after Day.....and by the way, her parents are Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she's Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She's thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.

Gotta love it.

She'd love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com

Fisher Price Newborn/Toddler Bouncer

I recently read that this Mom with 3 kids is looking for a 2nd hand bouncer like this and must admit that I felt a pang of guilt that we had it. And boy, did we have it easy!

You see, our Nana travels quite a bit and on her latest trip back, she caught sight of this rocker and decided to buy it for T2 from the airport but because she had her hands full, told herself that she’d get it on her next trip.

Nana hardly gets to carry and spoil T2 because she is on policeman watch all the time. You know, my little policeman at home, who scowls whenever HER Nana starts paying too much attention to her little sister. She has accepted that her own parents have to care for T2 as much as her, but she will not allow Nana to care too much. And this is only because Nana allows her to boss her around like that!

Anyway, we were in KLCC the other day and Nana spotted the bouncer again so bought it immediately. I honestly wouldn’t have paid for it but thank you so much, Nana…..we love you to the ends of the Universe!!!

bouncer

The bouncer is great because it has a VIBRATOR switch (1 unit D size battery operated) that vibrates the rocker as though you were seated on a massage chair. The battery seems to last quite long too because people keep forgetting to turn it off whenever they carry T2 away! And that is usually when she’s crying frantically because hey, why carry if her if she’s happy in her bouncy chair, right? Her attention span in this bouncer whilst on vibration mode is 30 minutes without any rocking.

It also has a stand option, meaning instead of having it able to manually rock-rock-rock, you could turn out the legs and have it stationery, just like a chair. By the way, Tee fits into it and shares it with T2 though we’ve told her that she really shouldn’t. Her weight is 17kg and the rocker takes up to 18kg……..so she’s pushing it. The Hubs promised to buy her a rocking chair from Ikea instead so let’s not visit Ikea for another hmmm……10 years?

The bouncer comes with some overhead toys  but I find them not only too close for her sight but they’re also made of plastic and hard so we’ve removed them. Perhaps when she’s bigger and can actually start grabbing at them. One of them is quite cute with music when you pull/press? Can’t remember…..it is of course, Tee, who finds this all out. I was just happy to have somewhere to prop T2 so that she isn’t facing the ceiling the entire time.

It has a hood option so baby is safe without falling out and the belt for baby is small enough to fit T2′s small frame. It cost RM289 but RM100 less if you purchased it from the States. If your child is able to use it up to 5 years old (like us!), then we’re looking at a RM60 per year investment!

Seriously though, if you had a sister like Tee, your younger child won’t be needing any toys for entertainment because Tee, the little monkey, has SO MUCH ENERGY, in entertaining her baby sister. To the point where T2 starts frowning and wondering, “what IS this girl really trying to do?”

T2 is very good that she likes the bouncer. We have one similar to this, with hood, safety belts, vibrator, overhead toys, music but my girl never liked it, we hardly used it. Nothing worked for my girl as an infant LOL.

We have the exact bouncer, but Didi is hardly impressed. Not for 30 minutes, anyways!
