….Talk is cheap….take it with a pinch of salt!
My daughters and I, we are so extremely lucky to have a Nana like Mom. My Mom, she has the biggest heart in the whole wide world. Last night, she cooked us a dinner of baked pasta filled with lots of mincy beef, tomatoes, bechamel and cheese…..it was Heaven. With that we had juicy ribbed-eye steak on the side, perfectly grilled potato wedges, buttered asparagus. I had doubles and was so full but the food was just too good not to have doubles! Then we celebrated T2’s 3rd month birthday with tons of cake. That is the life.

Mom has been fighting cancer for 7 years now - gosh, has it been that long?! What a fighter! I am so incredibly proud of her strength that she has stuck up for us, her children and grandchildren, to fight this killer disease. I know for a fact that the only reason she has this will to live is because of her overwhelming love for us. And for that we are so grateful. What would we all do without Mom?
Mom, who always has a solution to all our questions and problems. Mom, who can tell any of us telling a lie from here to England and back. Just because she doesn’t say anything to us doesn’t mean she doesn’t know. Mom, who would give up anything just so we could have whatever it is that she knows makes us happy. Mom, who takes the time to cut-out years worth of recipes from magazines and files them in categories so we could have yet another family heirloom. Mom, who would fight tooth and nail, never mind if you’re ten times larger, richer or more powerful than her, to defend her family in any circumstance from harm and hurt. She is THAT loyal. Mom, who never fails to give to any of the less fortunate, even if it is just that stranger on the hospital bench looking destitute. Mom, who has sacrificed so, so, soooooooo much for her family in so many ways that we’ve lost count. Mom, who can smell a rat several miles away and knows when we are mixing with someone who isn’t good for us. And guess what? She has been right EVERY step of the way. Her intuition is amazing, at the risk of making an understatement. Mom, who has garnered so much worldly experience in life that she REALLY knows the solution to all our problems. Mom, who has set us a benchmark that we could never live up to…….
What do you do with a Mom like that?
Love her to the end of this world, eternity, and take her for lots more family holidays!
Perth, London, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Melbourne, Paris, Bali, here we come!
Once upon a time, I designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, I clean poop and am student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, I have certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....
To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.
This blog is about me, Mamapumpkin. A crazy, demented Mom who cares full time, alone, without any help, for an even crazier preschooler AND a baby with a boob addiction problem. *sniff* Someone, please get me a chair.......
I write anything that comes out of my head, mostly without thinking first, which almost always gets me into trouble (according to my husband, also known as the love of my life.......on a good day).
My pet monkeys drive me towards challenge after challenge, 24/7.
Gotta love it.
