Mamapumpkin???

Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, she cleans poop and is student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....

To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.

This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A crazy, demented Mom who cares full time, alone, without any help, for an even crazier preschooler AND a baby with a boob addiction problem.

She writes anything that comes out of her head, mostly without thinking first, which almost always gets her into trouble (according to her husband, whom she considers the love of her life.......on a good day).

Her 2 pet monkeys drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7. Day after Day.....and by the way, her parents are Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she's Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She's thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.

Gotta love it.

She'd love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com

Getting sick from the rain

I chose to tempt fate yesterday. I don’t know why I do what I do sometimes.

It is a known fact tried and tested many a time, that whenever I get caught in the rain, even if it is the slightest drizzle, I will catch a cold and fall ill. TRIED and TESTED in many variations throughout my life, just to prove a point. If I get caught in the rain and wash my hair immediately, I’m fine. If I wear a cap and my body gets wet, I’m also fine. For some reason, rain water just cannot touch my head. If it does, I’m doomed. It’s almost like my head is allergic to rain. It must have something to do with pollution!!!

It rained horribly yesterday and I was at Insight Kids (who incidentally is having a great holiday programme coming up!!!) with Tee and of course, didn’t have an umbrella. Instead of waiting for the rain to die down or borrowing an umbrella, I impatiently wanted to rush home to get dinner ready.

Just before we made a dash for the car, I saw a stranger (someone else’s driver :-) ) who had an umbrella but was having a smoke. I asked him if he minded sending us to the car and he quickly put his cigarette out to help us. However, once Tee got into the car, I told him I would be fine as I didn’t want to trouble him to escort me to the other side of the car.

Bad move.

The head is really painful right now but I’m still off to give my little girl a great day today. We’re going to watch Madagascar!!!
