I called for a family meeting

Yes, I did, and guess what? Almost everyone was on defense mode. Who’s calling this meeting? Who’s part of the family? Why are we having a meeting? What have I done wrong?
I’d realised exactly then, that I should have reworded it and said Family PARTY, instead of Family MEETING. *sigh* We live and learn.
I have drawn up my agenda and everyone has agreed to attend our first meeting. Some are sceptical because they feel the plan would fizzle out. Such pessimism. For me, I will drive this and whoever opts out, well, they opt out. But they’re not going to spoil MY family plan. It would also be very telling, who is committed to this family and who isn’t.
