Making friends easily
By bigpumpkin | October 14, 2008
I certainly don’t. But Tee does!
Tee and her new 8 year old Indonesian che-che friend in Orlando.
Tee can go up to any stranger (usually children, she’s not so interested in adults) and introduce herself. When we were in the States, she made at least 10 friends herself, just by asking them their name or playing with them randomly, and then starting conversation. She is a real natural. Yet, she gets very, very upset when people don’t want to be her friend. In her innocent world, everybody should just be friends and play together.
Mommy is the complete opposite. After living close to forty years in this unfriendly world, can you blame her? It takes a LOT to become Mommy’s friend. Sure, it’s all well and fine to hoo-hoo-ha-ha and make small talk about the birds and the bees and the car and the house and whatever else under the sun, but still, there are very, very, very, very few people Mommy considers true friends. The criteria to become a friend of Mommy is so high that most people usually just give up. And that’s fine with her. Because that is one of the ways in which she makes out the weeds from the grass.
Oh, can you just tell that I’m in a bitchy mood today!?!!!
