A meal made from love….
By bigpumpkin | September 7, 2008
That’s what my mother does as she knows no other way, apart from dishing out dosh. Many mothers show their love through cooking. It is quite amazing that I have learnt to show love in other ways. It proves that just because you didn’t get it doesn’t mean you cannot give it. It means that the world is a big place and the many people in it have many different ideas. Just because she doesn’t cook for you doesn’t mean she does not love you. Similarly, just because my Mother does not spend time with us does not mean she doesn’t love us.
OK, I’m rambling on. Here’s what my Mother cooked for us tonight. The food was so good that I missed out on the pictures. Sorry!
1. steamed soya sauce tofu topped with fried onions, spring onions and coriander
2. stir fried vegetables - broccoli, carrots, snow peas and
3. beef rendang with potatoes
4. chilli chicken – my absolute favourite!!!
5. green vegetable soup
6. pan fried cod garnished with coriander and spring onions
7. eaten together with glorious fragrant jasmine white rice!!!
It is important to understand a person well before you conclude that they do not love you, as every person shows their love differently. I cannot stress this point enough. So many women are fixated with cliches and narrow mindedness and I wish and wish that they would see a broader perspective of this world. Besides, so what if that somebody’s whose love it is you are craving for does not love you? Love yourself!!! It is the greatest life lesson I’ve learnt thus far.
What constitutes love to you? How do you show your love? How do others show you their love?
