Shouting at your kids - Part 2
By bigpumpkin | September 6, 2008
Alas, it was too good to be true. After not shouting at Tee for 3 whole days, on the day the Hubs was due back from Bahrain, she got her dragon lady back. The rascal was taking almost TWO hours to get ready for school, dawdling and waddling like she owns the world, taking her own sweet time to perform each and every task. One of her greatness weaknesses is that she talks too much and dreams too much. It drives me completely insane. We finally arrived at school at 10 minutes before 10am. We woke up at 8am. How embarrassing?! School starts at 830am. The drive to school is only 5 minutes. So just to brush her teeth and wash her face, get dressed, have her milk and breakfast, took all of 105 minutes!!!
This morning again, she just couldn’t give me any peace, talking non-stop and asking me all sorts of questions. I really couldn’t stand it and shouted at her to be quiet, because when I talk to her in a normal tone of voice it somehow doesn’t register. Why is that?????????????????????????
She is also incredibly lazy, another trait I can’t stand, because I am sick of being her maid. ANd not only is it about being a maid but the little princess really needs to get out of her princess shoes!!! This morning, when she was about to drink her milk, she realised that her table wasn’t where it usually was so she went, “Oh NO!!! How am I going to drink my milk if there’s no table!???!!!”
So I said, “Oh NO!! What are you going to do?”
“You get the table, Mommy…?”
“Excuse me???”
“Can you please get the table for me, Mommy?”
“NO!!! YOU get the table, you want to use it, you go get it.”
“No, you get it!!! I can’t carry it!!!
“Of course, you can.
“No, I can’t. It’s too heavy!!!
“Well, then you drink on the floor.”
It’s only the plastic IKEA table which she is more than capable of carrying. So off she went to work to get her table, albeit struggling, but I was proud that she did some actual work. I am really fed up of being her slave. Of course, it could have backfired and she could have then said she wouldn’t have her milk then(which is what she’d normally do) but I would’ve just brought out the cane to show her that she is indeed going to drink her milk.
What is wrong with us???

I also don’t have the patience to wait. Can’t stand of people taking their own sweet time doing things. Sadly, my hubby is one of them.

Let’s just hope it’s a phase that they all go through. I have the same problem with my 4 year old son. But now he’s taking it a notch higher by not responding when you talk to him or ask him something. He refuses to answer and ignore anything you say.
And now, my lil girl is already showing her princess side too. And she’s only 10 months old. Help!

Shern is also like that, everytime. Kids nowadays, too much! I’ll just tell him off, “Don’t boss me around, I’m the boss, you’re not”. Hahaha..
No wonder he also favors his daddy more than mommy. Sigh!

LOL. Sorry for laughing. I’m so not looking forward to Olivia reaching that age. Why are they so difficult. When we were that age, I don’t think we were that way.
Or were we?
