The lives of the pumpkins
By bigpumpkin | April 24, 2008
My lil’ vain pot checking her face out after make up before going out for a party.

The treadmill has arrived. I can’t believe we never invested in it before! I promise you, in a year’s time, I will still be here pledging that I have been on it on a regular basis. Now, we need to start calling some friends in to charge gym fees to help pay for it :-). Tee loves it. On Day One, she was on it for 20 minutes at 5 minute intervals throughout the day. That night, she passed out at 7.30pm and slept straight through till 7.30am the next morning. Imagine five whole hours without a kid in sight, no little voice making requests, aahhhh……….I LOVE my treadmill.
The next day, she begged for it again but I didn’t have time to watch her so she didn’t get her exercise fix. It’s such a great example to a toddler - exercise. And I really admire her enthusiasm to exercise.
I still don’t have any photos of Blondie because the cut only goes with shades, and my sunglasses are in the car. It’s a timing issue that will get sorted in time. I’ve had mixed reactions. Some people say they love it and that it suits me, some people say they cannot get used to it. I’m 50-50. I know it would be perfect if I was 20 kilos lighter but at present weight, I look like a younger Datin - yuck.
Meanwhile, the Hubs has been sending lil’ Tee to school everyday ever since we discovered that she didn’t get over emotional when HE sent her. She is ever so happy to leave him for school and runs off without a kiss and hug for him, leaving HIM the emotional wreck, the love-sick puppy. As for me, I can bask in my solitude at home either sleeping in till noon or do whatever the hell I wanted to do. I have never had a lie in though because, heck, if I have all this ‘alone’ time, I’m bloody well going to make full use of it. Every single second counts!
What’s up with the weather these days? Does anyone know when this rainy season ends?
We went to the Shang last Sunday hoping to eat at Lemon Garden where the clown is but it was full. Completely full and sounded noisier than the Bangsar and Taman Tun wet market. So we had Tim Sum instead, also pretty packed and lousy service. Not the same old Shang service that we were used to 10-15 years ago. If I ever had a business, great service would be so drilled into the staff that they’d be confused if it was service they were selling or the product.
I’m rambling on, aren’t I?
Tee has told me that when I get a maid, she has to be an English speaking maid. And I cannot go to work all the time, only sometimes. Oh, and I’ve just only discovered that the best way to calm a whiny toddler is to have a super creative brain that is fast enough to come up with ideas to distract her. Yes, that is definitely the way to go with Tee. I’ve got to write a book now - 500 ways to trick a toddler into the bath.
Toodles!

I want a treadmill too, really!! How much was your investment? I tell you, it’s going to be one of your best investments. Like what Sheela had said, don’t treat the treadmill as your clothes hanger ok?

Oh yes, we put Christopher on the elliptical too and he spends like 10 minutes at time. Great! Unfortunately, he doesn’t go to bed any earlier but it does calm him down a bit.
You know they start off young. Alyssa also has to look in the mirror before she leaves the house. What is that about? Does she not trust me? Her latest thing now is perfume. My 2 1/2 yr old needs perfume before she can leave the house. She even pesters me to use my earrings? What will I do when she gets a little older. I think I am in for trouble.
