The tale of the high strung lady

A friend of 2 years made a passing comment the other day that I was so high strung blablabla…. Whilst my smiley faced with brightly lit eyes stayed constant, my brain jerked at the shock of it all and then did a few somersaults within my skull. Someone actually considered me high strung. Wow. Not even my lifetime friends have ever commented that I was a high strung lady. Do I come across as high strung? C’mon…..be honest.
Because I never in my wildest dreams considered myself to be high strung. I can get angry, yes. I can be the devil’s incarnate and I certainly can act like a crazy woman, but my perception of high strung, and there is only one lady I can think of at the top of my head whom I would consider high strung, is someone who is never relaxed. Someone who doesn’t KNOW how to relax. Someone who always has to talk, always has something to say (even when not asked!), someone who always talks in an excited manner, and someone who is loud. These people have an aura of unhappiness around them. Statistically, from my personal experience anyway, women who are beyond a certain age and who are still unmarried, tend to possess such qualities.
I certainly don’t fit into my categorisation of being high strung but I guess it’s all about personal perception. And everything is relative anyway. I’m going to ask what your definition of a high strung lady is.
Ahhh……..Tee’s lovely mom is that high strung psycho lady from Mars!

Unless you could sense some negative vibe or hostility from her when she said that, just assume that she does not really mean it in a bad way. You over-analyse is it?

Maybe it’s because you’re always so busy. I hope this person didn’t mean it in the way you think. If they did screw them!
