Dear God, {fill in the blanks}……Amen

Ever since I got the idea from a really wonderful Mom, I started making it a routine for Tee to say her prayer before bedtime every night. She has known how to pray for awhile now but we haven’t been doing it everyday. So now we do. Tonight’s prayer went like this:

Dear God,

Thank you for my blanket. [she kicks her blanket off all the time! and hates it! so I have no idea how this is relating.....] Thank you that I have SO many blankets to keep me warm. Thank you for my sword. [huh?] Thank you for my lovely day, I went out with my Daddy. And then he bought me stickers. Thank you for my Daddy. And my Mommy also [pronounced 'oso']. And thank you for my Nana who loves me VEWY much! Mmm…..I don’t know what else. Oh! Oh! Thank you for my bed. [huh? YOUR bed?]

Amen.

Then she exclaimed, “Mommy, I need to get a praying mat to pray every night!!!”

Oh dear, my Mother is Muslim and Tee watches her pray sometimes with her full white garb and Tee is now thinking she needs the full works as well. I think it’s time I started bringing her to Church!
