Love affair with all things sweet

    By bigpumpkin | September 29, 2007

I think my mother felt a deep bitterness when I was born. As such, drank condensed milk whilst she was pregnant, and fed me everything sweet after. It could’ve been the perpetual PMS. She then says I lost ALL (well, most….) my teeth when I was three because it was her fault. And what does she do now? Feed Tee lots of ………..c’mon, three guesses.

I distinctly remember losing my teeth at three because my grandmother, who worked at the hospital, would drive me down to Seremban (where she worked in the 70s) to see the hospital dentist. They were frequent trips with me kicking and screaming and five nurses holding me down. So yes, I definitely remember.

Since then, I’ve always had a sweet tooth - cakes, chocolate, ice-cream, have a magnet type of relationship with me. It is not something I’m happy with and do I blame my mother? Do you really want to know the truth?

I am terrified that Tee would develop a sweet tooth one day and am trying very hard to curb her sugar. Sometimes I think it’s too late. My mother fed her ice cream when she was 6 months old (YES!!! I was FLIPPING OUTRAGED!!!) and at every contact, she would offer some kind of candy to Tee, even when Tee was quite happy going about her own business. The least she could do was to save it for a bribe!

Anyway, I’m working on it. I’ve explained to my iron-willed daughter time and again the consequences of eating such stuff and well, she doesn’t care. Like you know, smoking could kill you but you do it anyway.

On a more cheerful note, a SWEET ’blog agent’ approved this blog despite it not coming of age (3 months). Didn’t I tell you I had a sweet tooth? Sweet people? Come………………to me. I will savour and devour your every morsel……….

The blog agent was SMORTY. They not only pay above market rate, they are evidently flexible and pay weekly! If you have a sweet tooth like myself and love blogging, you might want to learn how to blog for money. Be sure not to miss SMORTY. They will hook advertisers with star bloggers to fuse win-win dessert. Mmmmm………..And hey, SMORTY even sound like SMARTIES.

Oh, and coming back to Tee and sweets, do you think a sweet tooth is developed or genetic?
