Mamapumpkin???

Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, she cleans poop and is student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....

To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.

This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A crazy, demented Mom who cares full time, alone, without any help, for an even crazier preschooler AND a baby with a boob addiction problem.

She writes anything that comes out of her head, mostly without thinking first, which almost always gets her into trouble (according to her husband, whom she considers the love of her life.......on a good day).

Her 2 pet monkeys drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7. Day after Day.....and by the way, her parents are Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she's Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She's thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.

Gotta love it.

She'd love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com

Toddler fashion faux pas

Saturday was a tremendously busy day for us. We had a birthday party in the morning, some friends visiting in the evening and about 278 tasks to accomplish in between.

Since we were ALL rushing all over the place first thing in the morning, I quickly tugged out a pretty dress from Tee’s cupboard and yelled at the Hubs to get her dressed. It crossed my mind if I should choose her panties as well, but I decided that since all her panties were pretty, it was safe enough that whatever he selected would go with her dress …….which I knew would be whatever on top. Trust men.

After finishing my last wave of mascara, I darted out the front door with my mind in a jumble, and finally got settled in the car; when I noticed……..

Tee in her very pretty pink crocheted dress with SPORTS SOCKS AND SPORTS SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies and gentleman, have your ever, EVER gone for a public function wearing your Nike trainers with your luxurious evening gown or tux? It’s like wearing your G-string as your headband!

The car automatically turned into a war zone with fireworks shooting from one direction and two defenseless allies who didn’t know what hit them. Then Tee voluntarily tried to bail her Daddy out,

“Look, Mummy!! My socks and shoes are pink! They MATCH my dress!”

It doesn’t matter if the colour matches, I continued harping at the Hubs. Out of Baby Imelda Marcos’s shoe cupboard are at least 10 pretty sandals of pink and white that he could have put on for her to wear to the party. But instead, he unknowingly ruined his daughter’s reputation (AND MINE). So what to do?

Wait. We’re not done yet.

So after getting a dose of fireworks blasting in your ears, you’d think that the Hubs would at least check with me if he was unsure about dressing Tee the next time. Right?

Later in the evening, Tee was prancing around in her panties and a turqoise top when suddenly, our friends called to say they were downstairs. Since we were to go out for dinner, I yelled to Tee and the Hubs to quickly put some pants on and what did she walk out with?

A BRIGHT RED AND FLORAL SKIRT!!! With turqoise? I don’t think so.

Again, she has matching turqoise shorts, pants AND skirts all in her cupboards. Or denim! Why didn’t he think of denim??? Denim goes with everything.

*sigh*

“I can’t believe my parents made a mockery of me today. I’ve lost all my friends. They think I am weird. I think I need to move to Alaska. Maybe there they’d have no choice but to put me in bear suits everyday.”

Today, Tee said “Mummy, I don’t want Daddy to match my clothes anymore…..”
