Haunted tales of the Big Pumpkin

    By bigpumpkin | July 30, 2007

Ever since Dina Zaman (writer of I am Muslim) told of her true horror stories where we stay, I have been driving home at night with frozen blood and unblinkable eyes…….I tell them to concentrate on the road and not look anywhere left or right but they so disobedient, my eyes! They steal peeks when they are most forbidden. Tell me, if your own body parts don’t obey you, what hope is there left for a normal life.

Dina told of her family driving home one evening and spotted an old lady sitting at the bus stop so they wound down the window to ask her if she needed a lift, since poor thing right??? So late already……The old lady just turned away. Later, after they’d arrived home, her father had opened the kitchen for some fresh air and there was the lady, right outside the kitchen doorstep. He slammed the door shut and all hell broke loose in the household. If I remember correctly, they were watching her from balconies upstairs till she finally disappeared by dawn. I can’t recall the exact details but that’s the gist of the story.

She told another story of her sister and boyfriend driving home, again same location (i.e. in MY area!!!) and the boyfriend spotted something and told them not to look and what did they do? Look, of course!

So what haunted spooky experiences have you had in your lifetime?

I’ve only had two and even then, I’m not sure if they’re really considered real, if you know what I mean.

Have you veer heard of ‘kuai chak’? It means that the ghost is on you, pressing you down. I experienced this when I was 16 on a friend’s bed in the middle of the night. I woke up wanting to go to the washroom but couldn’t move. I was totally awake, could see the ceiling and the surrounding room, but only felt eerie and could NOT move. After saying some prayers for about 10 minutes, I could move again. I woke my friend up immediately. No way was I going to the washroom myself!

Another time, four of us were playing mah jong in my old house where I grew up, late into the night. Now, my mother claims she has had many experiences there before but with my mother, she has had experiences almost everywhere! So while playing, I heard a man’s breathe beside me although it was my mother beside me and my aunty on the other side. I turned to look but saw nothing. I was so sure I had heard it. Later, my mother admitted that she had heard it too.

    Spooky……

When Tee was a baby, she’d communicate with unseen butterflies in my bedroom. Did your kids do that? It totally freaked me out. She would giggle and laugh as though someone was playing with her, and it sure wasn’t me!

ewwww, yuck. i’ve had the ghost on my chest. i was sleeping and woke up cuz there was someone in my living room. i knew who it was and i knew if i didn’t get up, he would come in the BR and hurt me and my daughter. but i couldn’t move. not any of my body parts and not one inch. i thought it was a dream in the morning, but maybe it wasn’t. i do know it felt REAL. everything in the “dream” looked exactly like it did when i went to sleep and i had a real feeling of opening my eyes when i heard my front door open. i’ve had some seemingly real dreams but NEVER one like that, before or since. brrrrrr!

Oh my goodness! WHO was in there in the living room with you??? Spooky!

yup, cairo likes to look at a corner of the my room’s ceiling and babble to it when she was a baby. used to scare the hell out of me. i’d overdosed on “the ring” & “shutter” i guess.

now that she can talk a little, she will always look for her “pie-der”, whom, according to her, lives at another corner of my room. she will wanna beat it, scream at it, talk to it, tried to offer it some milk and even bid it goodnite whenever she leaves my room. i just wanna clarify one thing though… there are no spiders in my room!

other kids have imaginary friends, my daughter has an imaginary spider… sigh….

Tee has not made up an imaginary friend yet. She always talks to her toys but oh so cute, Cairo’s little spider friend! You must get the book…..shit, I can’t remember the title now…..the one about the spider whom nobody wants to kawan. Do you know it? I will get the title for you.

I’ve not had any encounters before (touch wood) but am scared stiff about such things. My babies also always smiling and laughing at thin air. I say it’s angels playing with them. Yes, I’d rather believe that I have angels around the house than “other” things. BTW, my DH experienced being possessed before. That was before I knew him, long ago.

I’m a big chicken too. Oh, yes! I must remember the angels theory. My mother keeps telling me about angels and I keep forgetting. Definitely nicer to think their angels, and not toyols - hahaha…Quick, share about posession story! My mother also kena before.
