A Mother’s Monologue

So now that I know who he is……

The Hubs and I were watching him with his wife beside him, giving a speech in front of 10, Downing Street.

“His wife is quite classy….she looks young, no?”

No response.

“Why aren’t they holding hands?”

He gives me that look of death again. “He’s giving a speech, for God’s sake.” and turns back to the TV.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if they held hands?”

Silence. So I thought, well….maybe that isn’t a good idea. What if she squeezes his hand and he suddenly gets an erection? Definitely not a good first impression.

“Don’t you think they could at least stand closer to one another?”

I swear to God, a hippopotamus could have passed through both husband and wife.

“Next time, if you’re Prime Minister, you better stand closer to me, OK?”

I am speculating but the woman must have a toy-boy. I mean, her husband has already broadcasted that she wants George Clooney to play her husband if Hollywood ever makes a movie of them.

Even though he is not good looking, I like him already.

He chose Angelina Jolie over Jeniffer Anniston.
