    Flu ping pong

    By bigpumpkin | June 25, 2007

We’re experts here in the game.

Oh, how di…di….diiiiiiiifff……icultttt it is to be with a toddler when you have the flu……

To clean that bum when you’d rather be sleeping.

To bathe the naked teletubby when you’d rather be sleeping.

To cook not just nutritious chicken pumpkin (and coriander, onions, potato, ginger) soup and grilled fish and egg for meals, but to pander to those ‘other’ snack requests,

“Mummy, I want cheese please. Can you please buy a better cheese. This one is not nice….”

“Mummy, I want barley. I want to eat barley.”

“Can I have pear? No, apple. No, pear. Umm…yes, pear.”

“Mummy, I want bread with honey.”

    “I’m thirsty…”

“Oops! I spilled, Mummy….it was an accident.”

WHEN ALL I WANT TO DO IS SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then, there is the entertaining part.

Tee wanted to role play today. All day. She was the Mummy and I was her Baby. She kept wanting me to call out Mama? about 500 times to which she would respond, “I’m here, Baby….” and hug me. I’m not even sure where she gets that from because I don’t do that. Gosh. Maybe that is what she wants me to do in real life???

    Flu. Can’t think.

    *feel sorry for me face*

You poor girl. Couldn’t you just tell your DD that you’re going to play dead? Hahaha. Sorry, just kidding. Hope you get well soon.

I tried that once and she started really crying with sadness…….so no more playing dead. I got told off as well when I explained to my mother and the Hubs how surprised I was that she understands death.

Hey, it’s a good idea for you to play the Baby & u can sleep, LOL!

Even if this Baby sleeps, the bossy Mother will wake her up within 2 seconds to repeat the game all over again. No peace.

Your posts always get me chuckling. It’s funny why most toddlers love barley. My 2 gals LOVE barley to bits too, esp the barley pieces.

Yes, she loves the bits too. Which barley do you buy? I was just researching it today after finding out that my friend’s grandmother buys their barley from the Chinese Medicine Shop, not the supermarket.

My mil said ’sarng soke yee mai’ is better for kids, i.e. the big ones. Just ask the CMS assistant to pack you RM1 or RM2 of sarng soke yee mai (mention it is for toddlers) and it comes together with some other herbs & leaves as well in the packet. But i prefer the taste of the regular barley coz the SSYM tastes a bit wierd, like the smell of bugs!

THANK YOU!!! I will look for it and see if Tee likes bugs. :-) You never know. The girl likes the strangest things…..medicine, bitter ones included, bittergourd, vegetables, hmm….there’s more but can’t think of it now. She hates durians, though. Got that from her Daddy. She is definitely known for being the weird kid who likes all the things that most kids hate.
