The lack of stroller and a heroic day

    By bigpumpkin | May 29, 2007

If there was ever a time I could be more wrong, it certainly was today. I had misjudged the need for a stroller when I brought Tee to the KLCC Aquaria (Tee is on school holiday these two weeks) thinking that if I could carry a 13 kilo toddler all the way from KLCC to The Weld (~2 kilometers) on a sweltering sunny afternoon, the walk from KLCC via the parking lot tunnel to the Aquaria (< 1 kilometer) was chicken feet.

    It was.

On the way there. But because I am still ill, my body is somewhat weakened and the walk journey back was horrific. I felt my pulse vibrating, sweat showered me and my breathes were disappearing into the clouds.

I was about to pass out from carrying Tee when I realised the fucking, blooming, bastardly car was lost!

I put her down hand held tight and told her to be quiet as I needed to concentrate to find our car. She only panicked and bullets of questions started shooting out, “Is it lost? What are we going to do? How are we going to get to Nana’s house? Are we going to walk there? Is it really lost, Mummy? Where is it? Are you concentrating, Mummy?……”

“SHUT UP RIGHT NOW OR I’M NOT BRINGING YOU OUT ANYMORE!!!”

Of course the car wasn’t lost at all. I’d just passed by it in my blurred state of extreme exhaustion.

The little girl was exhumed in glee when we’d found the car and dared to suggest,

“Next time bring the stroller, okay? Then you won’t have to carry me.”
